How are South Tyrolean fruit spreads and jams produced?

The basic ingredients are ripe, washed fruits from integrated or organic cultivation. The refinement process begins after the fruit has been chopped or passed through a sieve. Only pectin is permitted as a gelling agent. In lieu of colourings or flavourings, manufacturers use small quantities of lemon juice, vanilla beans, spices and distillates to refine the product. The delicious result? A fruity, natural taste!

What makes South Tyrolean jams and fruit spreads so special?

Jams are spreads with a fruit content of at least 50%. On the other hand, fruit spreads have a fruit content of at least 75%.
